Welcome to Y Beudy in the beautiful Swansea Valley
Location : Y Beudy is located in the Swansea Valley on Ty Gwyn Farm. This former barn has been converted into a very attractive detached house with living accommodation on the first floor to take advantage of the lovely views. Located on the edge of the village of Ystalyfera on 30 acres of land with footpaths, just outside Brecon Beacons National Park and 13 miles north of Swansea and the Gower Peninsula.
Accomodation : On the Ground floor there are 4 bedrooms (double + ensuite shower room, double, twin, bunks with double underneath), bath/shower room. Upstairs there is a lovely living room upstairs with woodburner, dining for 9, spacious conservatory with doors to decking. In the kitchen there is a oil-fired range, small electric cooker, microwave, f/freezer, d/washer; cloakroom. TV, DVD, video, hi-fi, w/machine, oil c/heating. Outside, to enjoy the peace and wonderful views are a patio with garden furniture.
Nearby : Y Beudy is ideally suited for all manner of activities. The nearby Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains are ideal places for walking, sightseeing, birdwatching (The home of the Red Kite), photography and painting. In addition, and for the more adventurous, there are opportunities for caving, gorge walking, quad biking, climbing and even gliding.

Also, nearby are numerous swimming pools, leisure centres, Dan Y Ogof Caves, Craig Y Nos Country Park, Cefn Yr Erw Primate Sanctuary, Gower Heritage Centre and the house is well suited for access to Oakwood Theme Park (1:30mins), the City of Cardiff (1 hour), Tenby (1:30mins) and Hay on Wye (1:30mins). There also waterfalls, castles, churches, rivers and much much more to see.
Nearby Swansea, Wales' City by the Sea and birthplace of Dylan Thomas and Catherine Zeta Jones, is a lively and vibrant maritime city and regional shopping centre. Only a stone throw away, the Victorian resort of Mumbles offers a fantastic array of attractions, including a pier, traditional boutiques, craft shops and ice-cream parlours. Mumbles is known as the 'Gateway to Gower', Britain's first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Gower Peninsula extends West of Mumbles in a succession of stunning coastal and rural sceneries. To the East, the 'Waterfall Country' at Afan and the Vale of Neath is a haven for walkers and bikers alike.

Sport : The house is located in a region, now known locally as "Ospreylia", which has many sporting traditions. Just under 30 minutes away is the newly built Liberty Stadium which is the home of newly promoted, League One Champions, Swansea City AFC and the Ospreys Regional Rugby Team who were winners of the EDF Cup in 2008. It is also an up and coming concert venue (The Who - June 2007. Elton John - June 2008). Local sporting teams include many rugby and football teams and, for all those golf lovers, there are 5 excellent courses (Glynneath, Palleg, Pontardawe, INCO and Garnant) within a short drive away.

Wildlife Spotted in 2008
Since Giovanni planted over 25,000 trees at Ty Gwyn Farm we have seen a big increase in the wildlife spotted around Y Beudy.
So far, in 2008, the following have been spotted . .
Birds
Red Kite, Tawny Owl, Barn Owl, Sparrowhawk, Buzzard, Kestrel, Green Woodpecker, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Nuthatch, Swallows, House Martin, Swift, Heron and many, many, regular garden visitors such as Blue Tits, Coal Tits, Sparrows and Bullfinches
