On a dull and blustery day up at Cwmamman Institute the Pontardawe Town Under 19s Youth side completed a brilliant season for themselves, and the club, with a 13-2 win against the home side.

A decent crowd had gathered for this final game and saw the Town lads dominate the game. A 6-0 score line at half time put any nerves to bed and an air of confidence spread throughout the Pontardawe contingent.

The first half goals came from Josh Roberts, Tom Blizzard, Rhys Coffey, Josh Dorward, James Beer and Jack Green. Unfortunately Josh Roberts had to leave the pitch with a sore back and was replaced by Liam Griffiths. During the first half Jamie Rano, who was a spectator for most of the period, pulled off an outstanding save as he tipped an Institute shot over the bar.

From the second half restart the home midfielder, Tyler Hollidge, hit a spectacular shot from the half way line which went over Rano and into the net. This was to spur on the home lads who put up an excellent effort for the remainder of the game despite the difference in class between themselves and the Ponty lads.

Josh Dorward replied almost immediately to give the visitors a 7-1 lead but Institute hit back with a well taken effort by Chris Stonelake which gave Rano no chance.

From then on it was Town who hit another 6 without reply to seal the West Division title with goals from Jack Green, Josh Dorward (hat trick), Rhys Coffey (again), Jack Green (hat trick), Liam Griffiths and, Town's X Factor winner, Corey Bevan who popped up with a decent effort that he will no doubt tell everyone was the goal that won the title.... and that we should forget the other 72 !!!

So well done to Jason Dykes, Richard Scott and Steve Beale for their management and coaching for the season. Well done to Niall Thomas for his captaincy and also to all the lads who secured this title ... you've done the club proud !!
