Darts Night - 30th January 2011
An excellent evening of darts at the Clubhouse entertained a good crowd as Pontardawe Town's First Darts Tournament for many years was won by Phil Hoskins after a tense final against Wayne Burdett.

It was an evening of quality darts and good fun as Mark Hooper's music and lights show added a comedy element to the occasion. His selection of background music and competitor entry themes were brilliant. Notable ones were for Ian Griffiths and Wayne Burdett who had suffer the "Fat Bastard" song whilst Phil Hoskins, well known for his vocals down at the Rec, was welcomed in with Lulu's "Shout". Very predictable, but nevertheless great fun, was Kevin Davies's entrance to Postman Pat

The first round of 16, played from 501 and the best of 3, allowed 8 of the top players through to some very competetive quarter finals. The semi finalists then lined up as :-

Semi Finals
Phil Hoskins -2-0- Steve Morrow
Wayne Burdett -2-0- Kevin Davies

The final was a tense affair and it was Phil who came out the victor although Wayne's inability to stop the pool team pestering him may have had a negative effect on his game plan

The Final
Phil Hoskins -2-1- Wayne Burdett

Well done to all and we now look forward to another cracking evening of entertainment in April
